What is Inspected during a home Inspection?
 

 Here is a Home inspection checklist that you can use as a reference. It covers various areas and components of a home that are inspected during the process:

Exterior

  • Grading and Drainage: Ensure the land slopes away from the foundation to prevent water accumulation.

Interior

  • Walls, Ceilings, and Floors: Look for any cracks, stains, or signs of water damage.

  • Doors and Windows: Inspect for proper operation, sealing, and functionality.

  • Electrical System: Test outlets, switches, and circuit breakers for proper functioning.

  • Plumbing System: Look for leaks, proper water pressure, and signs of water damage.

  • HVAC System: Test heating and cooling systems for proper functioning and efficiency.

  • Attic, Insulation, and Ventilation: Check for proper insulation and ventilation to prevent energy loss and moisture buildup.

  • Basement/Crawl Space:

  • Foundation: Look for cracks, settling, or other structural issues.

  • Electrical Wiring: Ensure proper wiring and protection against moisture.

  • Plumbing: Check for leaks, proper drainage, and signs of water damage or mold.

  • Structural Components: Inspect beams, columns, and supports for any signs of damage or deterioration.

Roof
